Summary: The Nurse Practitioner works collaboratively with the health care team. He/she will assess, plan, implement and
evaluate care for patients. He/she will, in collaboration with other team members provide programs, treatment and
counseling appropriate to the patient's plan of care. He/she will consistently demonstrate proficiency in working with
the designated patient population, and serve as a unit resource and teacher.
Responsibilities: 1. Accountable for the delivery of quality patient care utilizing a therapeutic process.
2. Evaluates outcomes of patient care
3. Acts as a role model
4. Ensures that staff is familiar with current theories and practices.
Qualifications: EDUCATION
MSN Required, Graduate of Nurse Practitioner Program. Current CT APRN License. EXPERIENCE
3-5 years experience in area of specialty preferred. LICENSURE
Licensed as a NP, Certification in area of specialty; Basic Life Support (BLS), NRP
