To perform general scheduling functions of Radiology department with medical offices,patients and other hospital departments. Schedule all radiology procedures.Register all outpatients for radiology services.Integrates ancillary services to provide efficient and effective utilization of the Radiology Department.Provides physicians and their office staff a coordinated and timely system for scheduling procedures.Projects a professional image and positive attitude.Demonstrates effective customer service. Registration accountability of errors reviewed monthly.

Responsibilities: 1. Essential Functions
1.1 Logs onto computer system to process paperwork for patient procedures.
1.2 Enters requested information with accuracy of 97% accuracy.
1.3 Matches physicians requests with control sheets.
1.4 Gives proper demographic and requests to correct departments.
2.1 All entered requests for exams are filed under correct daily folder.
2.2 Requested releases for prior exams copied are filed in alphabetical order in the pick up area in the office.
2.3 All screened MRI patients are filed into daily folder and placed in correct area for department to review before patients arrival.
2.4 Locates and pulls folders and reports for doctors.
3.1 Patients are greeted in a courteous and professional manner, while treated with sensitivity.
3.2 All Nuclear Medicine/US patients have proper copied amount of demographic sheets for exam.
3.3 Patients are directed to proper waiting area for exams.
3.4 Accuracy of 97% when registering and entering orders for all patient exams.
4.1 Answers phone identifying self in a courteous manner within three rings.
4.2 Prints schedules to ensure all requests are met.
4.3 Ensures screenings and creatinine levels are obtained prior to patients arrival to best ability with documentation.
4.4 Provides exam requests with copies of orders to registration area for next day schedule.
5. Front Desk
5.1 Labels all incoming requisitions to correct department with patient medical #.
5.2 Ensures departments are contacted to acknowledge outpatient arrival.
5.3 Files all read requisitions in daily folders.
5.4 Greets all patients and calls ina courteous and professional manner.
6. Insurance Verification
6.1 Acknowledges that all orders from physicians are correct diagnosis for exam.
6.2 Contacts insurance department for authorization when necessary.
6.3 Works with all departments necessary to ensure payment of all scheduled exams.
6.4 Locates ICD codes/prints ABN for insurance neccesity.
7.1 Interacts courteously and respect with staff and volunteers.
7.2 Maintains close contact with all needed departments to ensure patient satisfaction.
7.3 Steps in to assist others to complete daily workload.
7.4 Assists file clerk in requests for release when necessary.
8. Accuracy/Department Safety
8.1 Contacts other departments when needed to ensure proper exam is ordered.
8.2 Acknowledges and corrects any entered exams that are incorrect in a timely manner.
8.3 Signs off on all documentation needed to ensure proper training was offered.
8.4 Maintains work area and equipment in condition required by department standards.
Equivalent to four years high school, to include typing and training in office skills.
Computer literate,word processing and hospital information skills required. Previous medical background preferred. Prior hospital experience, such as admitting or MD office experience.
Good communication and telephone skills required. Self motivated, must be able to maintain a fast pace, handling multiple tasks with accuracy. Must practice excellent customer service skills.
