The qualified candidate has extensive in-depth knowledge of the operation and management of biomedical engineering and information systems concepts and technologies. Experience in leading the planning, design, implementation and support of clinical engineering integrations. Facilitates the enterprise wide collaboration of multiple departments necessary to support medical device integration and patient safety initiatives. Candidate actively leads all aspects of the project development lifecycle. Proven ability to demonstrate customer service excellence by managing customer expectations and effectively communicate with all levels of management.
1. Technical /Analytical 1.1. Extensive knowledge of clinical systems architecture used for medical device interoperability including clinical applications and specialized areas such as Radiology, Anesthesiology and Laboratory. 1.2. Provides technical expertise and guidance in the installation of 510k devices and required provisions such as network, power, mounting. 1.3. Responsible for installation, monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting, documentation, configuration, performance, and testing of hardware, software, and networks used for integration of biomedical devices. 1.4. Analyzes, defines, configures, and tests clinical device data used for transmitting HL7 data to the EMR(s) 1.5. Responsible for annotating changes to inventory tracking of medical devices and proactively recommends and implements process improvements throughout YNHHS. 1.6. Responsible for identifying and addressing root cause of issue to effectively restore Clinical Engineering operations. 1.7. Utilizes and enhances the YNHHS problem and change management standards and processes. 1.8. Monitors progress on assigned project tasks and provides daily status updates. 1.9. Responsible for gathering customer requirements, analyzing and documenting current and future state workflows relating to medical equipment placement and operation. 1.10. Provides continuing education training to super users, clinical staff, CE staff, and the Clinical Engineering Integrations team on technologies as it relates to patient care workflow, change management and operational processes 1.11. Responsible for providing extensive analysis and the development of processes to improve the current state of YNHHS biomedical technology for the purposes of standardization, risk, inventory, and product lifecycle management. 1.12. Responsible for the completion and continued management of all BMDI project plan deliverables. 2. Communication Skills 2.1. Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, or similar field required.
Technical project management, implementation, and operational support experience preferred in a healthcare environment. Two or more years of progressively responsible clinical information systems or patient monitoring systems interface experience preferred. Experience working with customers to gather system requirements, documenting workflow, and providing technical solutions. Prior application support experience preferred. Knowledge of utilizing beside medical devices including telemetry/physiological monitors, pumps, vents, server technology, wifi, and monitoring networks preferred. Knowledge of clinical workflows related to Pharmacy, Respiratory, Anesthesia, Nursing, Operating Room, Cardiology, and Radiology preferred. Working knowledge of project management methods, information systems standards / quality methods / metrics, system application implementation, enhancement, support methods and practices preferred.
Valid driver's license and proof of vehicular insurance required. Six Sigma, PMI, Interface, Server, and Network certifications are preferred.
Resourceful self-motivated individual interested in learning new technologies to improve patient care and clinical quality. Customer service oriented individual comfortable with interacting with clinicians, technical and operational staff at all levels of the organization. Demonstrated knowledge of a broad array of biomedical equipment, facilities planning, inventory management, and quality control.
Completes assigned and delegated responsibilities within established timeframes.
Responsible for timely solutions to complex, multidimensional projects and associated teams. May be required to provide on-call support during non-core business hours as needed.
On-call as required. Must travel to all YNHHS sites as needed. Minor equipment lifting required.
