The medical staff determines the qualifications of the radiology staff that use equipment and procedures.
Responsible for operating a variety of medical equipment in at least four modalities (MR /CT/Mammography/ X-Ray/Bone Density) to produce high quality images to assist in clinical diagnosis as directed by a radiologist.
Position is located in Stamford, CT
1. 1.Performs a wide variety of technical and professional duties utilizing complex diagnostic imaging equipment. Efficiently follows routine protocols, demonstrates independent judgment and has minimal downtime. 1.1. a.Follows routine protocols and refers to the source document to ensure the correct exam is performed. Is capable of building MRI scan protocols using the correct options with the correct pulse sequences. 1.2. b.Uses technical skill to operate CT equipment and software, scan, display and manage functions independently and efficiently without the need for repeat studies due to technologist error. 1.3. c.Operates mammographic and computer equipment to ensure proper technical results and is aware of and adheres to ACR and FDA/MQSA guidelines and policies. 1.4. d.Performs quality and efficient diagnostic radiographic examinations and bone density examinations using appropriate protocols, age specific standards and radiation (ALARA) sparing techniques. 1.5. e.Achieves and maintains competency in IV certification. 2. 2.Performs quality and compassionate patient care in order to ensure cooperation, safety and satisfaction. Demonstrates accuracy on safety screening and continues to promote our pledge for service excellence. 2.1. a.Thoroughly explains various procedures to the patient and offer emotional support. 2.2. b.Accurately reviews and completes all safety and history forms completely. Investigates any questionable items thoroughly prior to patient exam. 2.3. c.Consistently identifies the patient by name and date of birth confirming verbally with patient and by checking the name band prior to the start of any procedure. 2.4. d.Ensures a clean and safe environment through daily exam room and equipment inspections. 3. 3.Performs various record keeping, customer service functions to ensure exam charges are properly billed and communicates feedback. 3.1. a.Consistently selects the correct patient from the worklist. 3.2. b.Accurately completes/edits charges for exams on Epic to guarantee proper billing and medical record documentation. 3.3. c.Post processing and transfer of all images to PACS consistently at the time of examination. 3.4. d.Completes and scans all relevant documents into EPIC and PACS. 3.5. e.Reports all actual and near miss incidents in a timely manner.
Graduate of an approved radiography program.
Minimum of one year's current experience in MRI, CT and/or Mammography.
ARRT, CT State Radiographer's license, Advanced certification in at least one of the other modalities (MR, CT, Mammography). All mammography technologists will be required to have ARRT Mammography certification.
