Summary:
This individual is accountable to the Director of Nursing for the coordination of the resident care as decided upon thru family, residents and/or interdisciplinary care plan meetings. This individual is responsible for completing the patient MDS in a timely and accurate manner. This individual is responsible for the oversight of the MDS department to assure that the assessments are done in a timely and accurate fashion.
Responsibilities:
1. Stays current with any changes related to MDS and Quality Indicators
Provides education to the nursing staff and therapy staff related to new standards and changes for the MDS 2. Works collaboratively with nursing and therapy. 3. Completes MDS's in a timely fashion for submission and billing each month. 4. Ensure RUG scores are the highest possible and appropriate to meet financial targets set.

EDUCATION:
Registered Nurse with 3-5 years experience
EXPERIENCE:
Experience completing MDS and submission to the CMS
LICENSURE:
Current BLS at the Health Care Provider Level,
Current license to practice Nursing in the state of Connecticut ( CT RN license )

Good organizational skills
ACCOUNTABILITY:
Accountable for the accurate completion and submission of the MDS in a timely fashion
