Performs a wide variety of technical and professional duties utilizing complex diagnostic and therapeutic equipment and supplies, and following specialized techniques.

1. Proficient at using all equipment using during procedures. 1.1. Properly sets up and checks fluoroscopic and other ancillary equipment so it is ready to function at the beginning of the procedure. 1.2. Knowlegable of all equipment used during procedures including all ancillinary equipment (Intravascualar U.S., injector systems, etc) 1.3. Consistently produces high quality images for interpretation. 1.4. Limits radiation dose to patients and staff by uses radiation safety techniques (collimating, etc). . Ensures that staff in procedure room are practicing radiation safety guidelines. 1.5. Reports all equipment issues and ensures that problem is resolved. 1.6. Helps to Troubleshoots equipment issues; seeks assistance from senior staff as needed. Calls in repairs, alerts section manager about issue and follows up in a timely manner. 1.7. Able to accurately record hemodymanic recording for procedures. 2. Knowledgable all Information systems used in the section. 2.1. Prior to procedure, checks patient identification per YNHH policy and Accurately records demographic information. 2.2. Accurately archives images. Fills our appropriate forms or reports use of "dummy number" for emergent studies so that images may be merged once a YNHH unit number is obtained. 2.3. Able to proficiently use MACLAB/CARDIOLAB. 2.4. Proficient as using other pertinent information systems. 3. Provides appropriate equipment and supplies during procedures. 3.1. Provides equipment and supplies for all cases in a timely manner. 3.2. Performs QA as required (i.e., ACT ) as needed 3.3. Ensures sterililty of supplies and equipment. 3.4. Inspects all items to ensure item is not expired and/or contaminated. 3.5. Accurately charges for all supplies. 3.6. Reports any product issue or malfunction to section manager. 3.7. Stocks rooms on a daily basis. 4. Participates in various teaching and/or learning opportunities in order to further his/her own personal knowledge and to assist in expanding the knowledge of others. 4.1. Is receptive to teaching new technologists by assisting with their training and orientation, and student technologists by allowing them the opportunity for "hands on" experience, as observed by the supervisor and input provided from these students. 4.2. Receptive to assistance and/or constructive feedback offered by senior staff in regard to learning. 5. Performs various record keeping functions in order to maintain integrity and completeness of patient record and billing. 5.1. Accurately enters patient prior to produres. 5.2. Correctly fills out billing information for charge capture. 5.3. Accurately charges for supplies used during procedures. 5.4. Notifies appropriate staff when there are issues billing/charging systems.
Reports any supply issues to appropriate staff. 5.5. Retrieves (and/or) enters data into the ccss with a 100% accuracy rate. 5.6. Fills out billing sheet and submits. Seeks assistance from senior staff or Physicians as needed. 6. Provides quality care to all patients. 6.1. Introduces themselves by and other staff to the patient before the exam begins. 6.2. Explains the procedure the patient and answer all questions prior to start of case. 6.3. Maintains professional attitude at all times. 6.4. Ensures that the patient's needs are met at all times. 7. Utilizes proper safety measures during procedures for all people present in the room to ensure minimum physical risk for patients and staff. 7.1. Ensures that all staff in procedure room are wearing appropriate radiation protection equipment during procedures. 7.2. Wears eye/splash protection whenever in the exam rooms to prevent fluid contamination in the eyes, 100% of the time, as observed by the supervisor 7.3. Wears radiation badges for monitoring exposure, 100% of the time, as observed by the supervisor.
Changes badge out montly and hands in previous badge monthly. 7.4. Informs all personel in the prcocedure room before fluoroing to prevent accidental exposure, 100% of the time, as observed by the supervisor 7.5. Uses all means to use lowest radiation dose possible to staff working in procedure room. 7.6. Ensure that time out procedure is done prior to start of case; ensure that all team members are present. 7.7. Must follow all HVC Sterile procedure guidelines. 7.8. Follows all precaution guidlelines set for by YNHH policy.
Completion of formal Radiology Technology education approved by the A.M.A. AS Degree required.
One-Two years experience in a hospital radiology department preferred. Experience in O.R., Biopsies or other invasvie procecures desirable.
Considersation is given to new graduates of accredited Special Procedures program.
Cardiovascular Internventional experience preferred.
ARRT and CT state License required. CPR certifcation required.
Must have the ability to work closely with Patients and Physicians. Must have Extensive anatomical knowledge. Exceptional communication skills and ability to work on an interdisciplinary tream required. Must be able to learn and new equipment and procedures and troubleshoot equipment issues. Must maintain an awareness of all radation and patient safety issues involved in all procedures. Ability to be flexible to meet with changing needs of the health care environment and YNHH required. Must be knowledgable of all regulatory requirements to ensure compliance.
Must meet expectations of job responsibilities and performance standards as stated in the criteriabased job description. Performance will be assessed continually and reviewed annually by supervisor.
Determines equipment needs for each case. Supplies physicians with all disposable equipment as needed for diagnostic in an expedient manner to complete cases. Assists physicians during examinations providing high quality diagnostic images.
On call required; must meet YNHH policy for arriving to Department within 30 minutes of call. Must be able to wear lead apron during standing position for prolonged periods of time.
