The Credentialed Trainer is responsible for conducting Epic end user classroom training in an assigned application, under the direction of the application's Principal Trainer, who has primary responsibility for the design and development of the training. They are responsible for the set up and set down of the training classes they are scheduled to facilitate, including inventorying and distributed participant supplies. They are responsible for quality control, including administering a proficiency assessment and class evaluation at the end of each session, and forwarding ideas to improve the effectiveness of the training to the Principal Trainer.
Responsibilities: 1. Credentialing 1.1. Participates in a 4-6 week ?train-the-trainer? program to become proficient in the assigned application facilitated by the Principal Trainer, culminating in a presentation of selected material to the Principal Trainer, Training Manager, and Epic representative. Continued service and/or employment with the Epic Project Team are conditional on satisfactorily demonstrating proficiency. 2. End User Training 2.1. Provides end user classroom training as scheduled during a defined period of training supporting ?go live? for one or more target groups/organizations within or affiliated with the Yale New Haven Health System. Depending on the end user needs within 24/7 operations, may be scheduled to train outside of a day shift during the week, and on the weekends. 2.2. Arrives early and distributes participant materials to each workstation and checks that the equipment is in proper working order. 2.3. Notifies the Program Coordinator in advance when supplies need to be replenished. 2.4. Distributes/conducts/scores/collects/records a proficiency assessment from each participant, and forwards to the Program Coordinator to generate a password for system access. 2.5. Distributes/collects a written evaluation regarding the classroom experience, and forwards to the Program Coordinator to generate improvements to the program. 2.6. Participates in improvement discussions with the Principal Trainer as scheduled 3. Go Live Support 3.1. Participates as a Go Live Command Center member, being deployed as needed to provide ?elbow-to-elbow? support for a 2-3 week post-live period, sometimes covering 24/7 operations. 4. Project Team Support 4.1. Demonstrates a strong belief in the organization's goals and objectives for installing Epic. Functions as a change agent and advocate for the project and seeks ways to engage all end users. 4.2. Escalates issues to the Principal Trainer or Training Manager when necessary.
Bachelors degree in related field preferred.
Experience in group facilitation or delivering presentations and comfortable interacting in a dynamic training situation; training experience is strongly preferred. Clinical or Healthcare experience/knowledge is strongly desired.
Epic Credentialing: Required to complete a 4-6 week ?train-the-trainer? program and satisfactorily demonstrate proficiency facilitating learning in the assigned Epic application before a panel of evaluators.
Proficiency with Word and Excel required. Skill and experience in adult education desired. Strong ?people skills? and effective communication and organization skills required. An ability to effectively adapt to changing curriculum required. For extended assignments, travel between multiple training sites within the Yale New Haven Health System required.
