Responsibilities include patient tray assembly, deliver and retrieve food trucks from patient floors. Passing patient trays to the patients (red dot excluded), helping with scrapping, washing, rinsing, and sanitizing dishes, pots and pans. Deliver food supplies to different areas of the hospital as needed. May be assigned any duty that is the responsibility of the food and nutrition department.
Responsibilities: 1. Patient meal service
1.1. Delivers food truck to the appropriate nursing units at designated meal times and picks up the trucks according to department policies
1.2. Greets patients in a courteous manner
1.3. Confirms that the patient receives the right tray/nourishment by asking the 1.4. Patient?s name and comparing it to the name on the menu.
1.5. Always asks the patient if there is anything that you can open for them.

5. Uses time efficiently to complete work assignment
5.1. Consistently uses ?clean as you go? method and performs cleaning assignments, keeping work area clean and well organized.
5.2. Always stores food by covering and clearly labeling with the name of the item and the expiration date.
5.3. Wears gloves when hands are in direct contact with food. 5.4. Changes gloves between tasks.
5.5. Willingly performs other duties as assigned.
6. May tend, load and clean dish machine and wash pots & pans.
6.1. Operating temperatures are recorded on temperature sheet morning, 6.2. Afternoon and evening.
6.3. Knows how to operate & clean dish machine, conveyor and pots sink.
6.4. Always follows established ware washing procedures.
6.5. Properly disposes of all the garbage & recyclables according to department 6.6. guidelines. Reline all garbage and recyclable containers
7. May set up patient trays and nourishments
7.1. Assembles prepared food & beverage on trays for all diets in a timely manner..
7.2. Assembles prepared food and beverages on the tray to ensure the food is 7.3. served in the prescribed manner and are presented in an appealing fashion
7.4. . Demonstrates a general understanding of the diets and specific foods needed 7.5. for the different diets.
7.6. Assembles late trays and assures that the trays are delivered within 10 minutes of 8. May work in the Cafeteria
8.1. Consistently charges the correct price when cashing out customers, according to the price list.
8.2. Consistently keeps the salad bar & the deli bar neat and clean.
8.3. Restock all products as needed in a timely manner
8.4. Assist customers as needed.
high school diploma or equivalent
four weeks to become proficient and on the job training
food safety certification preferred
Must be able to read and write English. Clear written and verbal communication skills required. Strong organizational skills.
