Summary:
A member of the psychiatric crisis staff who participates in admission screenings and intake assessments with licensed clinical staff and is responsible for the coordination of discharge plans and in obtaining precertification from insurance companies to allow for patient admissions.

Responsibilities:
  • 1. Collaborates with other Crisis Clinical staff in patient assessment .
  • 1.1. Demonstrates basic skills in collecting, interpreting and communication patient assessment.
  • 1.2. Obtains and communicates collaterla information as needed.
  • 2. Collaborates with other Crisis Clinical staff in planning patient care .
  • 2.1. Demonstrates basic skills in identification of patient needs.
  • 2.2. Provides verbal input into patient's plan of care or discharge plan.
  • 2.3. Helps to set realistic outcomes.
  • 3. Collaborates with other Crisis clinical staff with implementation of patient care while on the Crisis Unit .
  • 3.1. Demonstrates correct interventions specific to psychiatry.
  • 3.2. Identifies changes in patient's behavior and response to care and communicates such to LIP.
  • 4. Demonstrates accountability and responsibility for actions.
  • 4.1. Complies with legal, regulatory codes, hospital policies and documentation requirements at all times.
  • 4.2. Participates in staff meetings.
  • 4.3. Participates in quality and regulatory projects.
  • 4.4. Is punctual in meeting deadlines.
  • 4.5. Is reliable and skilled in unexpected situations.
  • 4.6. Demonstrates respect and concern for patients.
  • 5. Demonstrates interest in self development .
  • 5.1. Sets realistic goals.
  • 5.2. Attends inservices and/or conferences.
  • 5.3. Accepts constructive criticism.
  • 5.4. Provides mentoring and/or supervision to new staff, students, interns, etc.

    Other information:
    EDUCATION:
    Bachelors degree in Psychology or related field. Masters degree preferred or demonstrated growth as evidenced by attendance at conferences, educational readings and supervision of senior clinicians
    EXPERIENCE:
    Minimum of 2 years current clinical mental health experience
