Responsible for overseeing and managing all quality improvement initiatives, special projects, financial feasibility studies, supply chain business plans, and operating budget preparation for Yale New Haven Health System (YNHHS) Corporate Supply Chain. This position will be responsible for assisting management in developing the project pipeline, quality improvement initiatives and the annual business plan for the department.
Responsibilities: 1. Working with Corporate Supply Chain Leadership team, this position will facilitate necessary changes in the governance, managerial, support and clinical processes that affect outcomes across the organization. 2. Provides key financial and operational data highlighting business and operational issues requiring management attention and resources. Participates in departmental task forces and committees to provide operational input. Makes quality-focused recommendations relative to the operational management of Corporate Supply Chain. 3. Working with the Corporate Supply Chain Executive, coordinates and develops annual operating budget for Corporate Supply Chain. Reports out monthly ?budget to actual? results. Responsible for accuracy of the department budget. 4. Develops appropriate analyses that meet users' needs and support YNHHS business plan relating to Corporate Supply Chain. Provides seamless financial data in a useable format allowing for the identification, analysis and evaluation of alternative strategies as solutions of business and operational issues requiring management attention. 5. Develops and maintains accurate block reporting analysis for monthly review by leadership to assure appropriate use of Supply Chain Mgt. resources. 6. Designs and utilizes dashboards and reports (both at Executive and Team Levels) to monitor key critical to quality measurements and operational goals. Drives utilization of dashboards by all team members. Assures real time and digital access to dashboards. 7. Ability to develop project business plans as required to meet the needs of department. 8. Leads, facilitates and executes projects to improve the operational efficiency of Supply Chain Management. Provides leadership in meetings regarding goals and objectives. Interacts with all levels of the organization as required. 9. Influences and communicates with all levels of YNHHS clinical, financial, and operational management concerning Corporate Supply Chain team goals and progress 10. Utilizes appropriate information systems to develop supporting create integrated financial and operating data and reports to support projects. 11. Responsibility and accountability for improving the quality and efficiency of operational and financial processes and the driving customer satisfaction for internal and external constituents. 12. Develops and documents new Corporate Supply Chain policies and procedures. Obtains approval and ensures processes are established to enforce the policies. Develops necessary training tools and reports to assist in the administration of the policies. 13. Uses Six Sigma, CAP, LEAN, and Workout methodologies to achieve process improvement. Facilitates integration of methodology with external vendors and customers. 14. Promotes professional accountability for operational improvements.
BS/BA required, Finance concentration preferred, MBA or MHA preferred.
Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in process improvement, finance, operations responsibilities and LEAN and/ or Six Sigma or experience with high level analytical tools and project planning/management. Any additional experience in facilities and/or renovation is helpful, though not required.
CAP, Workout and LEAN, Six Sigma Certified is preferred
Knowledge and experience of CAP, Workout and LEAN is required. Proven analytical /problem-solving skills.
Outstanding communication, presentation and facilitation skills. Strong computer skills (e.g., Excel, Access and PowerPoint). Demonstrated ability to successfully lead process change. Healthcare background helpful.
Identifies and monitors key critical to quality measurements in Corporate Supply Chain. Is held accountable for budget monitoring and adherence. Ensures position improvement on these measurements and develops controls to ensure that these key areas are sustained.
Develops guidelines for organizing ideas, implementing strategies, harmonizing and directing elements essential to achieving objectives. Possess a working knowledge of financial principles and how they relate to daily management decisions such as break-even analysis, financial forecasting, evaluate return on investment payback period, discounted cash flow, present value index in making profitable capital investment decisions, and other methods to construct a workable business plan. Must be able to work through barriers by providing creative recommendations and solutions in order to keep assigned projects on the path to financial and operational success.
