Under the direction of the Coffee Shop Manager, this position is responsible for dining room preparation, waiting on customers, cash handling, stocking and cleaning. preparation of food and beverage according to recipes. Other duties may be assigned.
Responsibilities: 1. Customer Service. 1.1. Provides the highest level of customer service to all customers by greeting them in a courteous and professional manner. 1.2. Offers prompt and efficient service to all customers during service hours. 1.3. Conducts transactions with customer's efficiently and courteously saying "thank you" after each transaction. 1.4. Is positioned at station at beginning of service and services customers in a prompt and timely manner. 2. Cash Handling. 2.1. Follows proper cash handling procedures as determined by department standards. 2.2. Follows policy concerning filling out the appropriate cash reporting forms to document allocated banks, sales, deposits, overages and shortages, and deposit pick-up. 2.3. Over/Short ratios are equal to or less than .05% of registered sales as documented on daily cashier logs and not more than $25.00 for any 30-day period. 2.4. Verbally counts change back to the customer and gives receipt to customer for every transaction. 2.5. Cashier line is not to exceed six cutomers. 3. Food Preparation. 3.1. Prepares food items according to established department standards, recipes and as directed by supervisor/manager. 3.2. Maintains temperature logs and adheres to correct holding temperatures for hot and cold foods. 3.3. Serves consistent portions accurate to recipes using proper serving utensils. 3.4. Properly rotates stored food products. 3.5. Maintains a clean and orderly work station at all times. Food and paper items are adequately stocked. 3.6. Notifies supervisor when supplies are low. 4. Sanitation. 4.1. Assists in maintaining clean and properly sanitized production and retail areas. 4.2. Demonstrates a "Clean as You Go" attitude and maintains sanitary work areas to provide proper conditions for food production. 4.3. Maintains clean and sanitary equipment/utensils using prescribed cleaning methods. Specifically: 1. Clean and sanitize all work surfaces, to include surfaces of scales and tray rest areas, shelving and storage areas. 4.4. At all times, maintains a clean and orderly work station. Personal items are NOT to be stored in the work area. 4.5. Practices good hand washing techniques at all times. 4.6. Follows established department policies regarding personal hygiene, glove wearing and hair restraints. 4.7. Adheres to sanitation guidelines to prevent foodborne illness and possible spread of infections. 4.8. Covers, labels, and dates food in appropriate containers. 4.9. Keeps floor free from spills, trash or articles. Places "Caution" signs immediately. 5. Safety. 5.1. Assure the safety of patients, staff and visitors through enforcement of department safety policies and procedures. 5.2. Adheres to safety requirements when performing jobs using the following: (May include but not limited to) 1. Knives, Slicers 2. Food Processors 3. Ovens, Grills 4. Steam Tables 5. Cleaning Chemicals, etc 5.3. Demonstrates proper use of protective devices and clothing as prescribed necessary by job: 1. Jackets 2. Safety Gloves, Oven Mitts 3. Aprons 4. Shoes 5. Goggles, etc 5.4. Immediately reports all accidents and incidents to supervisor. Before seeking medical treatment, notifies supervisor of a work-related injury or illness. 5.5. Demonstrates safe lifting practices. 5.6. Ability to demonstrate fire (emergency) evacuation plan. 5.7. Adheres to lock out/tag out procedures. 6. Additional Tasks. 6.1. Performs any additional assignments as required by manager/supervisor. 6.2. Attends all schedule meetings and in-service classes as directed by manager/supervisor.
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Good interpersonal and communication skills. Must be able to speak and read English. Excellent organization & time management skills, & ability to muti-task. Excellent customer service skills
Successful completion of hospital orientation. Successful completion of department orientation.
Flexible with the schedule, able to work when needed including weekend & holidays. Able to stand for long periods of time. Able to bend, lift up to 30 pounds and walk for long distances. Cash handling skills a plus
