As directed, performs data extraction from the patients medical record files and data enters the information into a database/spreadsheet. Other duties may be assigned.
Responsibilities: 1. Receives appropriate patient files and performs data extraction as observed by supervisor. 2. Performs accurate data entry of patient data into system within agreed upon timeframe as reviewed by supervisor. 3. Queries databases and produces data as requested. 4. Performs other projects as requested and assigned by supervisor. 5. Demonstrates ability to effectively prioritize workload as observed by supervisor.
High school diploma or equivalent
None required. Previous data entry experience preferred.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite specifically Word and Excel
The job requires the ability to read information in medical records, abstract pertinent biographical and clinical information and enter this information into the correct data entry fields of a spreadsheet. Given the nature of the information contained in the medical records, understanding of HIPPA regulations is necessary.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. They are also required to stand and walk. They must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the environment is usually moderate.
