Assists the Radiologic Technologist with the performance of a variety of technical and clerical duties. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Responsibilities: 1. Maintains an orderly and clean work environment. 1.1. Prepares the diagnostic room with necessary supplies and equipment for the diagnostic procedure. 1.2. Cleans diagnostic examination table and equipment after each patient. 1.3. Maintains inventory levels of supplies. 1.4. Stocks linen cart and disposes of soiled linen as appropriate. 2. Performs clerical duties as necessary for all diagnostic procedures. 2.1. Demonstrates knowledge of basic computer skills. 2.2. Enters patient demographics into computer system. 2.3. Responsible for retrieving and updating patient's previous film jacket. 2.4. Ensures accuracy of patient information. 3. Communicates in a clear and concise manner. 3.1. Interacts professionally and effectively with medical staff, patients and families. 3.2. Listens carefully and responds appropriately to instructions from manager or technologist. 3.3. Keeps patients and families informed about procedures and wait times. 4. Assists the technologist with patient care responsibilities. 4.1. Transports patients to and from the radiographic procedure room. 4.2. Assists the technologist on portable exams. 4.3. Assists with the transfer of patients on and off the procedure table. 4.4. Stays with the patient while the technologists checks the radiographics. 4.5. Communicates with patients and attends to their needs. 5. Performs other related duties as required. 5.1. Sends for patient when directed by technologist. 5.2. Flashes and processes radiographs film for technologist. 5.3. Brings radiographs to the radiologists for interpretation. 5.4. Transports patients to their units/room as needed. 5.5. Assists with moving equipment from one area to another. 5.6. Puts supplies orders in appropriate areas. 5.7. Assists with control desk duties. 5.8. Removes medication(s) from pneumatic tube system sent from the Pharmacy or Hospital Supply to the unit/patient care area. 5.9. Immediately delivers the medication(s) from the pneumatic tube system to the appropriate Registered Nurse, Physician, Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, Physician Assistant or other apporpriate licensed practitioner. 5.10. As directed by a Registered Nurse, Physician, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant or other appropriate licensed practitioner, remove IV solutions from the patient care area's clean utility room and immediately deliver to the appropriate licensed practitioner. 5.11. As directed by a Registered Nurse, Physician, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant or other appropriate licensed practitioner, stock IV solutions in the patient care area's clean utility room. 5.12. Accepts other related duties as directed by technologist and or Manager. 6. Patient Satisfaction: ED & Inpatient scores
