The Administrative Fellowship is a unique training program meant for Masters level health care administration graduates who are interested in a career in health care management. The application process and interviews for the YNHHS Fellowship occur in the fall each year, and Fellows begin their two-year program each July.
Required components of the application process include:
Complete the YNHHS online Administrative Fellowship application, found at www.ynhhs.org/careers (available August through October) Complete the NAFCAS online application (nafcas.liaisoncas.com) with a submission due date by the first Wednesday in October (10/2/19). Required materials to be submitted to NAFCAS are: cover letter, resume, personal statement, essay question response, official graduate transcripts (in the Academic History Quadrant of the NAFCAS), unofficial undergraduate transcripts (under Program Materials Quadrant) and three letters of recommendation (in the Supporting Information Quadrant of NAFCAS).

The Yale New Haven Health System (YNHHS) Administrative Fellowship program provides the Administrative Fellow with a valuable broad-based health systems experience. During the fellowship, the Administrative Fellow gains exposure to the Health System, as well as Yale New Haven Hospital, Bridgeport Hospital, Greenwich Hospital, L+M Healthcare and Northeast Medical Group. Project assignments are made at the system level and are based on initiatives underway during the fellow's tenure in alignment with the fellow\u2019s specific interests and career objectives.
1. Develop a broad range of healthcare management and leadership skills, such as project management, communication, data analysis, problem solving, research, continuous quality improvement, service excellence, team building and staff motivation.
2. Participate in project management and support as directed by the EVP/COO of YNHHS and EVP/President of YNHHS and Yale New Haven Hospital. Key past areas of focus have included ambulatory services, new business development, operational effectiveness, patient safety and quality, performance management, physician practice management, service excellence and strategy development.
3. Participate in shadowing experiences to develop understanding of health system operations, activities and infrastructure
4. Attend key executive meetings and provide meeting support.
Master's Degree in Health Care Administration, Business Administration, Public Health or related field.
Minimum two years experience in consulting, health care administration or related field strongly preferred
Individual must have a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle necessary for travel among the Delivery Networks
Individual must possess strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
Individual must possess strong analytical and verbal/written communication skills
Individual must demonstrate service excellence orientation and exemplary customer/patient service skills
Individual must demonstrate proven academic excellence
Individual must demonstrate YNHHS values of excellence, compassion, integrity, fairness, cost-effective performance and leadership
Individual must possess strong working knowledge of MS Office
