THIS POSITION IS COVERED BY THE TEAMSTERS COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT
Minimum - $15.00/hr
Maximum - $21.02/hr

SUMMARY:

Performs duties involving extensive cleaning in the Food Service Department.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • 1. Cleans foodservice equipment and maintains sanitation in kitchen. Routinely selects cleaning materials based upon equipment to be cleaned. Cleans assigned area with proper solution. Cleans floors, walls and kitchen perimeter based upon daily assignments. Arranges equipment in an orderly fashion after cleaning assigned area. Cleans equipment and notifies Manager/Supervisor of any needed repairs. Returns unused supplies to janitor's/chemical closet. Ensures that all items are replaced in an orderly manner and that janitor's closet is clean. Routinely collects waste from areas of kitchen. Washes hands throughout the workday and strictly obeys the hospital policies for infection control. Maintains kitchen floor throughout production and during Dietary operating hours. Assist with spills and garbage pick up during operational hours.
  • 2. Reports all unsafe conditions or other questionable matters to supervision. Maintains work areas and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
  • 3. Adheres to prescribed safety practices and procedures. Uses proper protection when working with chemicals and waste i.e., protection, gloves, masks, apron.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    EDUCATION:

    High school diploma or GED required. **Employees employed by YNHH effective 9/12/2012 as a result of the acquisition of the Hospital of St Raphael may meet educational requirements with the applicable combination of education and experience and demonstration of current competences.

    EXPERIENCE:

    Approximately one (1) year relevant experience in a health care setting.

    SPECIAL SKILLS:

    Must be able to read, write and speak English

    PHYSICAL DEMAND:

    Must be able to push and pull heavy equipment. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Must be able to perform similar duties as required or directed.
