Maintaining current knowledge and skills to performance analyses of blood providing the physician with information for the diagnosis and treatment of patients . Self-directed and able to work independently in the absence of a manager. To obtain blood samples from patients by venipuncture or skin puncture observing proper phlebotomy technique and patient identification policies. Operation and troubleshooting of analyzers instrumental in daily laboratory operations. Reporting and communicating results to physicians and/or medical staff including documentation of critical values as per policy. Demonstrates service excellence in all patient care activities. Promotes teamwork and quality patient care in all interactions with co -workers, physician offices and other departments. Maintain a minimum of 12 CE per year.
4 Year Bachelor Degree in biology, microbiology, chemistry or environmental sciences.
Preferred a minimum of two years working in the clinical laboratory environment. Phlebotomy skills required.
Ability to work in a laboratory setting operating lab analyzers
Phlebotomy skills to include children and oncology patients
Lifting of medium weight objects. Intense concentration with instruments or procedures and often working under stressful conditions.
