The Testing Coordinator functions as the lead for design, development and implementation of application testing strategies to insure appropriate testing scenarios and conditions are validated prior to roll-out of a software release or upgrade. The testing coordinator is responsible for standardization of testing policies, processes, tools and templates. They are also responsible for leading work-groups in reviewing of the project requirements and identifying the teams that need to be included in testing. They will work with the teams to create/maintain test script scenarios in the selected testing application software. They will also lead in the development and maintenance of test scripts per the application team's needs and other projects as needed. This individual will be responsible for leading integrated testing sessions, documenting and communicating testing status, testing issues and providing regular updates to leadership. They will also be responsible for escalating any concerns that may affect the application testing timeline. For significant upgrades to our Primary EMR and ERP systems the testing coordinator will also have oversight, with other system managers, for status reporting and issue resolution management during go-lives. Attention to detail, time management and organization are critical skills for this position.

Responsibilities

  • 1. APPLICATION EVALUATION AND SCRIPT DEVELOPMENT
    • 1.1 Meets with application analysts to determine testing requirements, parameters and expected outcomes.
  • 2. INTEGRATED TESTING CYCLES
    • 2.1 Partners with application teams to determine number of test cycles necessary to validate software readiness for deployment.
  • 3. QUALITY ASSURANCE
    • 3.1 Use testing software to track and trend for continued testing improvement and software reliability.
  • 4. SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES
    • 4.1 Coordination / planning of pre-go live test activities, go live test activities, and post go live test activities, including authoring and maintenance of go live testing checklists.

Qualifications

EDUCATION


Bachelor's degree in Technology or Computer Science or related disciplines, or sufficient combination of technical training and work related experience (courses in systems analysis and design, DBMS, screen design techniques, forms design, data gathering, oral and written communication).


EXPERIENCE


Five (5) years or more of experience in a variety of programming and analytical activities At least four (4) years of analytical experience; on-line, real time and data base environment Five (5) years of experience leading teams of test specialists Minimum 2 years of experience with the HP ALM /QC tool Experience testing ETL and Data Warehouse technology Experience using the Microsoft BI Stack (SSAS, SSIS, SSRS) Experience in a healthcare environment preferred.

Ability to develop complex SQL queries; preferred Ability to find gaps quickly and provide actionable solutions Experience with Waterfall and Agile methodologies; preferred Demonstrate strong understanding of the SDLC/STLC process; preferred In depth knowledge of software testing methodologies and best practices Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment. Adaptability to shift between projects and workload and be productive quickly Ability to quickly learn the application business area and its requirements Strong planning and leadership skills Excellent communicator, will always be working in a team environment with developers, BA's, PM's, and clients Ability to work independently and meet deadlines with minimal supervision and ability to deal with simultaneous tasks, communicate effectively, problem solve, and develop creative solutions to complex problems required. Strong organizational. problem solving and listening skills, attention to detail, innovative thinking and ability to inspire others required. Must possess a high level of customer service skills and participate as strong, collaborative team player .Capable of taking independent leadership role in managing end user relationships. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools required.


PHYSICAL DEMAND


Ability to work independently in multiple YNHHS locations. Responsible for providing detailed project status on a periodic basis. On call support during non business hours may be required.
