Project Access is a community based organization with the mission of increasing access to care and services for residents of the greater New Haven Community. The Senior Program Manager serves as a Deputy Executive Director for Project Access New Haven (PANH) and partners with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to vision and implement the agency's strategic plan. This leadership position will co-create with staff, board, partners, and volunteers the strategic directions, investments, infrastructure, and organizational culture necessary for PANH to maximize its impact in the areas of access to healthcare and resources for those most in need in the greater New Haven community. With a major focus on resource development, fundraising and fund development, the Deputy Executive Director supports and manages staff members, helps to lead strategic program integration and development and is a liaison to community partners. Additional responsibilities include supporting business operations of the organization independently and collaboratively with effective communication in a matrixed environment comprised of clinicians, faculty, staff, board members, contractors and consultants. Responsible for consultant and contractual agreements, hospital and organization policies and procedures, hiring and training of staff, and the provision of internal human resource and staff support. Serves as part of the PANH management team and contributes to the development of organizational strategies, policies and practices to facilitate effective implementation of programs and services in support of the mission and vision of PANH. The Deputy Executive Director serves on the PANH Board Development Committee & Finance Committee, attends all PANH Board meetings and serves as an interim Executive Director in the absence of the PANH Executive Director.
Bachelors Degree required. Master's Degree in business administration, health administration, public health, health policy, nonprofit management or related field strongly preferred.
With a Bachelor's Degree a minimum of ten (10) year's experience and with a Master's Degree a minimum of five (5) year's experience working with non-profit organizations, healthcare organizations, non-governmental or governmental organizations required. Work experience must show a progression of advancement and promotion with increasing organizational responsibilities. A minimum of 3 years staff (direct report) management experience required including interviewing of staff, hiring, goal setting, performance reviews and disciplinary actions as needed. Experience leading teams and/or managing complex community initiatives. A demonstrated ability to supervise staff, manage programs, operations, and financial requirements of grant funded programs. Highly developed communication skills and ability to work with a wide range of professionals.
