SUMMARY

Provide overall leadership, direction and oversight for the delivery of NEMG nursing patient care through both direct

and matrixed organizational and system relationships, and for the development and management of clinical

education and training for professional nursing and medical assisting roles within NEMG.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Works actively with physicians and APPs, operations, medical leadership, finance, value/population health

teams to develop models and standards for patient care delivery that insure appropriate care and services are

available that are high quality and are cost-effective.

2. In collaboration with senior leadership team ensures adequate human, information and non -salary resources

are available to meet patient care needs.

3. Ensures that recruitment, orientation and onboarding of nursing personnel is effectively administered.

4. Responsible for oversight of nursing practice in NEMG community practice sites. Ensures that scope of

practice is appropriate and addresses any nursing standard issues. Works collaboratively with Operations to

address practice workflow and performance.

5.Participates in the development and implementation of a systematic method of measuring, assessing and

improving the quality of patient care, including nursing care, and reports results to relevant NEMG leadership

and committees.

6. Ensures professional compliance with regulatory and legislative mandates.

7. Provides nursing leadership and oversight to NEMG Endoscopy Center.

8. In collaboration with the senior leadership establishes, reviews and approves policies and procedures

governing patient care services throughout the NEMG practice sites.

9. Ensures on-going competency and professional development of nursing and clinical staff through the

establishment of training and educational programs.

10. Collaborates and cooperates with institutions of higher learning to promote and expand professional

education.

11. Partners with other key leaders to participate and support NEMGs capital planning requirements and clinical

program development.

12. Actively participates in the NEMG strategic planning process.

13. Maintains membership and an active leadership role in appropriate nursing and related organizations.

14. Serves as the NEMG representative to all System Nursing initiatives and actively engages in these initiatives

representing the NEMG practice environment.

 

15. Establishes mechanisms for communicating vision, goals and objectives of the Organization to nursing and

clinical staff within NEMG

16. Participates in the evaluation of the annual employee engagement survey with particular emphasis on the

practice patient care staff and recommends and implements strategies and tactics to improve the

engagement scores for the patient care staff members.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

Advanced degree (MPH, MHA or MHN) required, Registered Nurse (R.N.) and BSN required.

 

EXPERIENCE:

Nursing leadership role with significant experience (5+ years) in managing a patient care services team in a complex

ambulatory environment that includes physician practice

Significant experience gained in a complex healthcare organization.

Experiences in general management, quality leadership, patient experience and patient care staff education and

training

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
