Under the direction of the Pharmacy Manager of Drug Use Policy, the Specialist is responsible for oversight of data analytics development for pharmacy automation, patient safety and clinical services in collaboration with pharmacy leaders across the system.

Responsibilities

The FTE will responsible for, but not limited to the following:

  • Membership on the YNHHS Smart Pump Charter Committee (Develop pertinent analytic data to monitor and identify opportunities throughout interoperability integration)
  • Collaborate with YNHHS Medication Safety Committee to identify key metrics and trends associated with pharmacy dashboards and identify opportunities for improvement)
  • Participate on the Automation and Technology Committee to identify and evaluate potential data integration opportunities between the various Pharmacy technologies
  • Develop System Pharmacy CQI Reports & Pharmacy Dashboard (e.g. smart pump metrics, patient safety, clinical and operational efficiencies)
  • Develop a working knowledge of all data sources currently available to help identify and monitor cost savings and quality improvement initiatives
  • Effectively utilize reporting tools (e.g. Business Objects, Logic Stream) as a guide to develop Pharmacy Strategic Initiatives

Qualifications

Education

Graduate from an accredited College of Pharmacy with a B.S., M.S., or PharmD degree. Completion of a residency in hospital pharmacy from a program by the American Society of Hospital Pharmacists is highly desired but not required.

 

Experience

Minimum of three years of experience in a clinical practice setting with demonstrated skills in formulary evaluation, drug information, and project management. Experience in leading or participating in medical committees and application of quality improvement techniques is required. Experience in leading or participating in smart pump technology and/or medication safety initiatives is highly desired, but not required.

 

Licensure

Active Connecticut Pharmacist License
