SUMMARY
Responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of department deliverables using multiple internal and external database systems. Supports the Office of Strategy Management and system strategy through the development of market assessments. Develops integrated analyses of national, state and local healthcare trends and assists in identifying market trends. Oversees the gathering and reconciling of data from large disparate healthcare billing, market, state data and other data systems. Responsible for the design and maintenance of databases and software programs, analysis design, error checking and data cleaning while adhering to project timelines. Demonstrates complex problem-solving ability and ability to improve processes. Develops expertise related to the data to detect issues for further investigation. Develops an understanding of medical and strategy terminology, code sets and service lines. Independently researches and recommends best practices for data management and analysis. Proactively provides suggestions for improving department data analytics. Manages assigned data initiatives from discovery phase through implementation. Participates on Strategic Intelligence Team in delivering high-quality, actionable information to the organization that informs strategic decision-making and enhance the organization IQ.

REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION (number of years and type required to perform the position duties):
Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Math, Statistics, or related field with emphasis in information management.
EXPERIENCE: (number of years and type required to meet an acceptable level of performance):
Three years professional work experience preferred in healthcare analytics. Experience working with large datasets in data analysis and reporting required. Candidate must demonstrate strong aptitude in Microsoft Excel (specifically, Pivot tables), Tableau, SQL, Access, Word and PowerPoint. Candidate must have excellent communication skills, the ability to think critically, the ability to manage multiple complex work tasks simultaneously, and the ability to improve existing processes. Demonstrated ability to develop meaningful and comprehensive analysis using the appropriate technical tools.
SPECIAL SKILLS:
Excellent analytical and quantitative skills. Ability to effectively conduct various types of analysis including: process, marketplace, physician, organizational financial, operational and staffing. Experience with large databases (such as CHIME, SPARCS, other state databases, Claritas, Epic, MS-DRGs, ICD-10s, CPTs, HCUPS, etc.) and internal/external databases strongly preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficient with computer information systems, data manipulation and reporting, demographics, such as Maptitude or other mapping software, inpatient and outpatient calculators/forecasters, pivot tables, Tableau, Microsoft SQL, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.

Collaborates with OSM team to plan, design, gather, organize, reconcile, prepare, analyze and report data utilizing multiple large databases and mapping software mentioned above. Develops expertise related to data to detect issues for further investigation. Demonstrates problem-solving ability.

SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMAND: Must have the ability to travel to various sites across the health system.
