Under the direction of the Associate Director, Retail and Specialty Pharmacy, the Pharmacy Inventory Coordinator is the primary responsible individual for oversight and management of inventory processes and activities across the retail and specialty pharmacy network.

Responsibilities

  • 1. Ensures accurate maintenance of inventory item records, including preferred products, inventory balances, reordering points, and preferred accounts and vendors.
  • 2. Development and ongoing maintenance of inventory processes and procedures to support inventory management across all locations in the enterprise. Ensure adequate training to front line staff in inventory processes and procedures.
  • 3. Ensures compliance with inventory management standards and record keeping requirements across all locations in the enterprise, including but not limited to invoice management and storage and return and recall management and recordkeeping, drug and supply storage according to CNO standards.
  • 4. Responds to inventory related requests from within the specialty pharmacy, the retail pharmacy locations, and throughout the system.
  • 5. Participates with inventory functions for Outpatient Pharmacy Services at Yale New Haven Health System such as receiving, put away, ordering, cycle counts. Assists other locations with inventory activities if needed.
  • 6. Monitor product trends and shortages to ensure proper inventory levels are maintained
  • 7. Assists in normal pharmacy distribution workflow activities at Outpatient Pharmacy Services if needed

Qualifications

EDUCATION

 

High School Diploma Required, College Degree Preferred.

 

EXPERIENCE

 

Three years experience as a pharmacy technician is required. Prior experience with inventory management is preferred. Knowledge of drug pricing, medication access, and pharmacy inventory financials is preferred.

 

LICENSURE

 

Active State of Connecticut Pharmacy Technician Registration and CPhT Certification through Pharmacy Technician Certification Board

 

SPECIAL SKILLS

 

Excellent communication skills both in person and by phone Ability to manage time and triage activities as appropriate High degree of attention to detail

 

PHYSICAL DEMAND

 

Ability to lift packages, pallets, totes
