The Mid-Level Provider- Lead will provide clinical support and Performance Improvement in Surgical Services, HVC at YNHH and system level support as needed. The Mid-Level Provider- Lead will work clinically to supplement the activities of the other Mid-Level providers as needed. Clinical responsibilities will be approximately 20% of position. Performance improvement duties approximately 80% of position depending upon the needs of Surgical Services. This employee has responsibility and accountability for improving the quality and efficiency of clinical processes throughout Surgical Services, Heart and Vascular Services at YNHH, and Perioperative areas across all delivery networks. Provides the framework, coordination, and direction for the systemic monitoring and evaluation of process improvement projects with physicians, nursing staff, and support services. Plans, organizes, facilitates and implements the efforts to improve processes, efficiencies that positively impacts outcomes. Focus on partnership with Surgeons and Surgical offices for improvements that will reduce length of stay and improve morbidity and mortality. Transmits values, communicates ideas, initiates and maintains programs and systems while continuously assessing the practice environment. Provides project management expertise necessary to drive significant breakthroughs throughout Perioperative Services. Conducts research to evaluate potential solutions related to changes in equipment design, procedures, manpower, personnel, and training Responsible for independent actions in project oversight, systems designs, and the implementation of special projects. Can utilize available performance improvement methodologies to achieve these goals. Will serve as facilitator for YNHHS meetings as designated by YNHH Surgical Services.
Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree and graduation from an approved Physician Associate program required. Certified as a Physician Assistant by the National Board of Medical Examiners.
Minimum of three years of related experience in the specialty area of assignment in a hospital environment. Experience with Process Improvement and Quality Improvement required. Masters in Health Administration or similar desired.
Certified as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
Must have excellent clinical, verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, develop and lead programs, foster a positive work environment. Strong initiative and excellent leadership skills. Advanced skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and any other computer products required to complete requirements for the position.
Must be able to drive to all delivery networks as required.
