Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline or technical training and /or related experience/equivalent in WAN/LAN/WLAN/Data Center/Firewall Technologies. A CNNP level certification is required.
At least seven (7) years of experience in a technical services function in a complex distributed enterprise network. Experience in a large complex data network environment is required. Ability to provide data network engineering expertise at an expert level required. Experience and knowledge in the following areas: networking architecture design, implementation and integration for LAN, WLAN, MAN, MPLS, Metro Ethernet, VPN, WAN and ISP network verticals. Voice/Video architecture, design, implementation and integration experience is a plus. Proven network experience designing, implementing & troubleshooting AWS/Azure cloud network infrastructure environments. Experience with orchestration & automation in the WAN and Data Center network areas a plus. Extensive experience in packet capture analysis. Complex routing and switching in multi-site networks.
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) level certification required in any network specialty.
In depth knowledge of TCP/IP and LAN/WAN/WLAN protocols as well as a good understanding of voice and data network design, performance, and security concepts. Operational experience implementing enterprise networking equipment including routers, switches, firewalls and VoIP products. Strong interpersonal and communication skills required as well as the ability to resolve multiple complex tasks within a team setting as a leader and contributor. Extensive experience designing and implementing network topologies employing IP routing and switching in multi-site networks. Extensive knowledge of network technologies that encompass the wireless, internet/dmz/cloud edge, campus, data center & network backbone areas: IPSEC, Vrf, GRE, BGP, EIGRP, QoS, Multicast, VPC, VxLAN, Switch Stacking, VSS, Virtual-Chassis, Spanning-Tree and 802.11. Cisco ASA & Palo Alto firewall experience a plus. Experience designing and implementing a redundant, highly available, vendor-diverse data network infrastructure topology in a 24x7x365 environment. Understanding of Cisco Prime, Cacti, Solarwinds NPM, VMware vCenter, and Cisco Unified Computing Systems (UCS) a plus. Strong understanding of network architecture practices and experience within a corporate data center environment. Ability to work effectively under pressure and function in a fast paced collaborative team setting. Demonstrated capacity to acquire new skills efficiently and ability to blend technical expertise and business perspective. Able to make logical decisions regarding the best method to accomplish goals or solve a problem and is guided by precedent and general policy in making decisions. Able to coordinate and obtain cooperation of others and to handle controversial issues tactfully.
