It is the Physical Security Technicians Job to assist the Physical Security Manager in protecting the assets and lives of those within Yale-New Haven Hospitals' main Campus and its associated corporate properties. Supports a proper functioning Physical Security System which in conjunction with a properly trained Communications staff ensures that the businesses of this Healthcare Institution are conducted in a safe and secure environment. The Physical Security Technician is responsible for, but not limited to; assisting the Physical Security Manager, Daily System functionality, Routine Security System Automation Programming (Door Schedules, Alarms, etc..), Visitor Management Systems (TBD), Daily support of off campus systems, Daily End User Computer programming, System backups, IS Preventative Maintenance, Training of YNHH CCO, management, and SCO Staff. On-site training of YNHH Clinical Staff on the proper use of various embedded Security Systems, Provide Support of, and training for online incident reporting systems, and assist in the deployment of new technology with follow up support. Overall this is a support position for Protective Services Information and Physical Security Technology and assist with researching and deployment of new technology.

Qualifications
EDUCATION
Three (3) or more years of experience in Electrical, Security access, and or Fire Systems. Five (5) or more years experience with Computers, Computer Networking, Computer Repair, Trouble shooting, Enterprise Alarm Systems, and IP server based Video systems.
EXPERIENCE
Ability to act quickly and appropriately in emergency situations; Have strong communications skills with the ability to get along with and teach others. Have Quality Technician skills. Comprehensive knowledge of various computer hardware and software applications including but not limited to: Microsoft OS, Microsoft Server 20XX, Incident Management Software, Some working knowledge of IBM RISC Servers, AIX and Informix SQL, Technical knowledge of Software House and American Dynamics Systems
LICENSURE
Low Voltage and or Electrical and or knowledge of basic alarm wiring Must have a current driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
SPECIAL SKILLS
Incumbent held responsible for adherence to established Hospital and Departmental Policies and Practices. Uses trouble shooting and technical skills to extend the life of deployed security devices.
PHYSICAL DEMAND
Extensive walking in variety of conditions and weather. Some light travel to various YNHH facilities.
