Performs a wide range of secretarial and data entry duties and coordinates a multitude of office procedures in support of the activities of the Nursing Resource Operation Center (NROC). Determines the proper allocation of NROC staff to the inpatient care units. Service Excellence, collaboration, teamwork, technical expertise, postive impact and problem solving are critical skills necessary for this position. Additional activities may be required at the request of the department and/or manager to ensure safe , effective and effecient operations of the facility.

- 1. Resource Allocation / Staffing: Ensures sound decision making and allocation of staffing to provide safe nurse patient ratios under the guidance and direction of the CSD management.
1.1Verifies accuracy of daily staffing sheets as compared against the master schedule
1.2. Identifies staffing needs for each shift based on information provided by each unit charge nurse.
1.3 Identifies over/under staffing per unit according to YNHH Flex Grid.
1.4 Communicates staffing assessments and issues to Management of CSD.
1.5 Allocate staff from the Centralized Staffing Department and the Pediatric Resource Pool to inpatient care units.
1.6 Communicates staffing decisions by telephone to each charge nurse.
1.7 Prioritizes Constant companion coverage based on YNHH policy and resources available.
1.8 Creates and maintains databases and spreadsheets for CSD
1.9 Interacts professionally with all levels of management and staff members in person, via the telephone, and via email.
1.10 Accountable for accuracy and timeliness of own work. Sets priorities and maintains knowledge of operational and administrative activities, their status and progress.
1.11 Uses supplies in a cost-conscious manner.

- 3. Scheduling
3.1 Updates staffing sheets with sick calls, floating within the cluster and CSD staff.
3.2 Runs Daily Staffing Sheets after changes are entered into Ansos for CSD.
3.3 Assists with the schedule changes and updating of ANSOS for all CSD staff.
3.4 Makes daily edits as necessary to ensure optimum performance of Kronos.
3.5 Enters and records time changes in ANSOS.
3.6 Facilitates adherence to YNHH policies and procedures to ensure compliance with organizational guidelines. Ensure proper tracking of worked/ non- worked hours and direct/ non- direct hours for financial accuracy.
- 4. Collaboration

5.2 Assumes responsibility for continued learning, skill development and goal setting in collaboration with the Patient Services Manager and completes self evaluation prior to review date.
5.3 Accepts accountability for a positive collaboration and interaction with other departments, and staff; adapting to changes in unit priorities and exhibiting maturity in all situations as necessary.
5.4 Maintains files in an organized manner meeting regualtory compliance.
5.5 Contacts appropriate personnel within and outside of the hospital in order to furnish or obtain
information to follow up on assignments or projects.
5.6 Creates and submits monthly reports
5.7 During periods of heavy work load is able to offer assistance to other workers. Exercises good
judgment and demonstrates flexibility by ongoing team work.
5.8 Demonstrates positive interpersonal relations in dealing with coworkers and management so that
departmental productivity and positive employee relations are maximized.

Minuimum High School Diploma or equivalent GED is required.
Experience with payroll software is preferred. Experience in healthcare environment is preferred. Experience and effeciency in computer skills with Microsoft Office software highly preferred.
knowledge of medical terminology . Knowledge of Microsoft Office and data entry preferred. Ordering supplies, navigating through hospital systems to get the task completed.Strong customer service, attention to detail, and effective communication skills are required. Working knowledge payroll programs preferred.
