Responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operation of the Gift Shop. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.



  • 1. Oversees scheduling and training of the new volunteers and maintains current master schedule.
    • 1.1 Ensures appropriate levels of volunteer coverage for the Gift Shop as evidenced by adequate volunteer staffing and feedback from volunteers and Chairperson's observation.
  • 2. Coordinates customer transactions to ensure efficient and courteous handling of sales.
    • 2.1 Keeps no more than three customers waiting in line at any time as observed by Chairperson.
  • 3. Maintains adequate supply and variety of merchandise out on display.
    • 3.1 Maintains adequate supply of merchandise on shelves and displays by replacing sold merchandise resulting in a "full appearance" as observed by Chairperson.
  • 4. Coordinates buying (for notions, cosmetics, candy, flowers, cookies, toys, and stuffed animals), receiving, pricing and stocking of all merchandise with Chairpersons approval.
    • 4.1 Ensures that the appropriate chairpersons are kept informed of show date schedules and credit references and cash required for each trip as evidenced by feedback from Chairpersons.
  • 5. Participates in special projects as required.
    • 5.1 Manages receipt of all merchandise and approves all invoices for payment following established department procedures as observed by supervisor.




High School diploma or equivalent required. 2 years college or equivalent preferred.




Minimum 1-2 years retail experience required, including merchandising, displays, sales. Supervisor/Leadership experience preferred.




M-F; 9a-4:30p




Bookkeeping experience and computer skills required including knowledge of Microsoft Office Software with specific emphasis on Word, Excel and Outlook. Experience with Point Of Sale (POS) system required. Understanding of both front and back office coordination including financial reports and inventory procedures.  Coordinates and overseas the day to day operation of the Gift Shop. Coordinates staffing and supervises shop employees.  Orients and trains new volunteers to the shop. Assists with customers, staff and volunteers, works with buyers and auxiliary.




While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is required to stand and walk.The employee must frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally move and/or lift up to 50 pounds. The specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
