Under the supervision of the Vice President, Performance Management for Yale New Haven Health System and his/her designee(s), the incumbent will collaborate with health system clinical leaders, and external vendors in the implementation of patient safety initiatives. The incumbent must combine strong quantitative skills and disciplined task management capabilities with high levels of interpersonal skills and diplomacy to be able to function effectively within an ambiguous environment. The applicant must demonstrate the ability to interface with clinicians, senior management and support staff to foster the team approach to the delivery of safe patient care.

EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree required with Masters degree preferred in a clinical field of study.
EXPERIENCE
Five (5) to seven (7) years of clinical experience in relevant area is required. Two (2) to three (3) years experience working with complex systems issues such as case management or utilization review is preferred. Experience with structured medical record abstraction is preferred. Experience entering clinical information into computerized databases is preferred. Experience with database queries is preferred. Quality improvement and patient safety knowledge preferred. A working knowledge of regulatory and operational guidelines that govern the relevant clinical area.Clinical experience in specialty modality depending on position location and department needs.
LICENSURE
State of Connecticut clinical license (ie Registered Nurse, Pharmacist, Physical Therapist, etc.)
SPECIAL SKILLS
Project management skills, including the ability to identify stakeholders, plan steps, coordinate and allocate resources to accomplish goals and objectives in a timely manner Leadership skills, including comfort with decision-making responsibilities; coaching, teaching, and counseling skills; and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others and to forge alliances and garner support. Strong communication and interpersonal skills including skills at persuasion and negotiation. Computer literacy with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Additional Information
BSN required. minimum 2-3 years of nursing experience.
