Under the direction of the Injury Prevention Manager, the Injury Prevention Coordinator provides direction for all injury prevention programs and associated educational activities within the hospital as well as through community outreach in order to support a Level 1 Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center. The Injury Prevention Coordinator will work with the Injury Prevention Community Outreach team members to ensure program goals are met.

Responsibilities

  • 1. Clinical Practice:
    • 1.1 Provides leadership and mentoring to the hospital staff by displaying excellence in the latest methodology and evidenced-based practices in injury prevention.
  • 2. Development of Injury Prevention Program:
    • 2.1 In collaboration with the Injury Prevention Manager and Medical Director provides program designs.
  • 3. Resource Management:
    • 3.1 Establishes effective working relationships with members within YNHH, YNHHS, Grantors and the community at large.

Qualifications

EDUCATION


Bachelor degree in healthcare or business related field required. Master's Degree preferred.


EXPERIENCE


Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years experience in Injury Prevention or related field.


LICENSURE


Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPS-T) required CPS-T Instructor preferred.


SPECIAL SKILLS


Excellent communications, interpersonal, coordinative, organizational and negotiation skills. Excellent clinical judgment. Excellent knowledge of personal computers and related presentation software.


PHYSICAL DEMAND


Ability to move and install child safety seats in motor vehicles. Ability to work outside as well as evenings and weekends as needed.
