Under supervision of physician and Laboratory Director/Supervisor, performs technical/clinical and research duties in the andrology laboratories of the Greenwich IVF and Fertility Center. Performs comprehensive quantitative and qualitative analyses of semen specimens according to WHO protocol, thaws frozen specimens, and prepares "washes" semen for artificial insemination procedures. Performs quality control and maintains all equipment and reagents and media in accordance to the Departmental Policy & Procedure manual. Must implement and maintain State, Departmental and Hospital policies and procedures, including but not limited to laboratory, CLIA, OSHA, CAP, FDA, QA, safety, environmental, and infection control. Reports results electronically to Laboratory Director in a timely fashion. Completes daily monitoring, cleaning, and calibration of equipment in laboratory and orders and maintains laboratory inventory. Other duties include assisting in the embryology and phlebotomy laboratories as requested in addition to cross covering both the Tuckahoe, NY and Greenwich, CT andrology laboratories. Clerical duties include photo copying, scanning, filing, etc. Helps build team collaboration, promote learning and growth and must demonstrate adaptation to change. Serves as liaison between patients and other medical staff members both at Greenwich Hospital as well as Greenwich affiliates. Coordinates and collaborates with other licensed professionals the plan of care for patients being treated at the Center for Fertility and IVF. Must demonstrate and promote service excellence at all times and serve as a professional role model.

Qualifications
EDUCATION
Medical technologist degree or clinical laboratory science degree required
EXPERIENCE
Minimum 3 years experience in clinical laboratory performing basic andrology techniques preferred
LICENSURE
Willing to obtain ASCP certification & NY state licensure
SPECIAL SKILLS
Good computer skills required for data entry , reporting, and statistics reporting utilizing EMR and Excel spreadsheets. Must have knowlege of WORD and Outlook and email. Phlebotomy skills Good written and verbal communication skills. Close concentration and attention to detail are required.
PHYSICAL DEMAND
Lifting of medium weight objects. Intense concentration with instruments, microscopes and procedures for several hours at a time. Small laboratory within private office setting in an off-site building. Non-windowed laboratory within a bright, windowed office. Certain laboratory procedures to be performed under hood (biosafety cabinet).
