Under The Direction Of The Revenue Cycle Director, Directs And Delegates Workflow, Oversees Staffing Of The Patient Access Department On An Ongoing Basis, Monitors Employee Performance, Conducting Job Evaluations And Addressing Employee Performance Issues. This Position Is Responsible For The Admitting And Registration Processes At The Main Campus And L+M Satellite Locations, For Implementing And Growing Point Of Service (Pos) Collections, And Increasing Operating Efficiencies In These Divisions. The Focus Of This Position Is To Ensure Correct Patient Demographic And Financial Information Has Been Obtained In Order To Ensure Accurate Flow Of Information And To Maximize Cash Flow, And To Ensure Excellent Customer Satisfaction. Provides Statistical Data, Updates, And Makes Recommendations To The Director.

Responsibilities

  • 1. Plans, Organizes, Directs And Oversees Inpatient/Outpatient/Er Registration Operations For L+M Hospital And Satellite Facilities.
  • 2. Provides Leadership In Setting And Overseeing The Workforce?S Expected Performance Levels Commensurate With The Organization?S Strategic Objectives And Holds Staff Accountable For Meeting Established Objectives, Policies And Procedures.; Interviews, Hires, Develops, Evaluates, Disciplines And Directs The Work Of Staff.
  • 3. Interacts With Physician Practices, Hospital Operations And Clinical Teams To Improve Accuracy Of Data And Processes. Analyze Reports And Advises On Significant Items, Trends, Errors Or Omissions. Develops And Implements Solutions To Ensure Data Integrity.
  • 4. Plans, Organizes, Directs, And Manages Admitting And Registration Operations Of The Revenue Cycle. Reports Monthly On Operations? Statistics And Staff Performance.
  • 5. Oversees The Allocation Of Financial Resources, Identifying Cost-Effective Approaches, Establishes And Assures The Use Of Internal Controls For Financial Systems.
  • 6. Implements And Grows The Pos Collections In All Registration Areas.
  • 7. Develops Training Manuals, New Staff Departmental Training, And Evaluates Employee Performance Together With Respective Supervisors/Coordinators.
  • 8. Develops And Implements Policies And Procedures That Guide Or Support Staff.
  • 9. Meets Performance Expectations For Customer Service, Teamwork, Resource Utilization, And Staff And Self Development As Outlined In Performance Review.
  • 10. Performs Other Duties As Assigned Or Directed To Ensure Smooth Operation Of The Department/Unit.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

 

Education:          Minimum of A.S. degree. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Experience:         A minimum of 4 years in patient access or health care patient financial services, hospital setting preferred.  Minimum of 2 years in supervisory role in patient access.  Extensive experience in front-end copay collection.  Advanced knowledge of Excel and Word.

 

 

EXPERIENCE

 

At Least Two (2) Years Of Experience Within The Healthcare Field Of Scheduling, Patient Access, Billing, Or Call Center Is Required. Minimum Of One (1) Year Supervisory Experience. Additional Years Of Experience Above The Minimum Requirements May Substitute For Educational Requirements On A One To One Basis (I.E. One Year Of Experience Equals One Year Of Education). Demonstrated Knowledge Of The Revenue Cycle, Cpt And Icdx Coding, Medical Terminology.

 

LICENSURE

 

Cpc, Cpam Preferable.

Requires Strong Analytical And Organizational Skills As Well As The Ability To Be Flexible With Changing Needs And Deadlines. Ability To Acquire, Manage, Manipulate, And Analyze Data. Must Be Flexible, Versatile And Adaptable Both In Day-To-Day Activities And In Supporting Revenue Cycle Quality Initiatives.
