EDUCATION
MSN - Graduate of approved Family/Nurse Practitioner Program. Current Connecticut APRN license Certification as FNP.
EXPERIENCE
Three years of PCICU experience preferred. PCICU experience is required.
LICENSURE
Must have a CT RN license and current Connecticut APRN license Certification as FNP.
SPECIAL SKILLS
Excellent basic medical knowledge with clinical skills and judgement. Possess analytical skills to evaluate care needs, ability to gather relevant clinical data, perform thorough physical examinations and possess excellent interpersonal skills, communication, and leadership abilities and exhibit good judgement and tact dealing with parents, families, and allied health professionals. Computer skills preferred.
Additional Information
YNHCH has 3 positions available to support growth in the department. One will be 3x12 AM (7am-7pm) and the other two will be 3 x12 PM (7pm -7am). Prior Pediatrice Cardiac ICU experience is required as an APP, or formerly as an RN. We are able to consider PNP-AC, FNP and PA candidates.

With more than half a century of experience in caring for children's hearts, Yale New Haven Children's Hospital combines cutting-edge technology with compassion and a family centered approach to pediatric cardiac care. The Children’s Heart Center is proud to be the first and only program in CT to provide pediatric heart transplantation and a mechanical cardiac assist program.
As part of our constant effort of providing innovative and outstanding care, we have recently launched a dedicated pediatric cardiac intensive care unit (PCICU) that cares for all children with congenital heart disease. This unit is comprised of 6 dedicated beds to the care of children with heart disease.
The PCICU critical care team practices an “adaptive care model” whereby patients are cared for by the same physicians and nursing staff from admission through discharge.
