The Nurse Practitioner - Diabetes provides comprehensive care to patients with diabetes and their families under the supervision of the Attending Diabetologist as directed by established protocols. In collaboration with the health care team, the Nurse Practitioner - Diabetes provides education of health care professionals in the Yale Pediatric Diabetes Clinic as well as contributes to the education of health care professionals. Coordinates diabetes clinical research trials.
MSN - Graduate of approved Family/Nurse Practitioner Program. Current Connecticut APRN license Certification as FNP, Certification in Advanced Diabetes with Management or Diabetes NCC Education preferred.
Two (2) years as a certified Diabetes Educator.
Must have a CT RN license and current Connecticut APRN license Certification as FNP, Certification in Advanced Diabetes with Management or Diabetes NCC Education preferred.
Excellent basic medical knowledge with clinical skills and judgement. Possess analytical skills to evaluate care needs, ability to gather relevant clinical data, perform thorough physical examinations and possess excellent interpersonal skills, communication, and leadership abilities and exhibit good judgement and tact dealing with parents, families, and allied health professionals. Computer skills preferred.

Must have prior cardiac ICU experience (pediatric experience preferred) as an advanced practice provider.
