The Center for Behavioral and Nutritional Health at Greenwich Hospital is seeking a per diem registered dietitian to work in support of its nutritional counseling and diabetes management programs. The Center for Behavioral & Nutritional Health is a hospital-based, offsite outpatient program offering nutritional and psychological services for the management of acute and chronic health conditions including diabetes and other endocrine disorders, cardiovascular conditions, obesity, gastroenterological diseases, chronic pain, neurological conditions, and psychological disorders. The registered dietitian will provide consultation, assessment and management of medical nutrition therapy for program participants, collaborating with healthcare providers to improve the health and quality of life of the individual.
MS preferred or BS in Food and Nutrition and matriculation in an MS program (in Nutrition or related discipline)
Five years of experience in a medical setting, preferably as a clinical dietitian in a medical setting.
Connecticut Certified Dietitian Nutritionist (CDN) or Registered Dietitian (RD); Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) encouraged but not required
Excellent public speaking and organizational skills; past experience with diabetes, bariatric surgery, and pediatric populations preferred; and extensive experience with behavior modification.
Moderate physical effort with some bending, stooping, stretching and lifting. Standing and walking most of the day.
