The HVC Procedural Lab Program Director will develop, facilitate, implement, and evaluate programs, which positively affect quality, safety, and service excellence within the Heart and Vascular service line at YNHH and throughout the YNHHS. The scope of this position incorporates collaborating with all HVC entities at all delivery network locations to ensure standardization and alignment of procedural practices and is accountable for departmental operations. Under the direction of the Executive Director of Heart and Vascular Center (HVC), the HVC Procedural Lab Program Director, will serve as a focal point for the HVC Procedural labs and is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership in HVC Procedural locations at YNHH and to collaborate across all YNHHS delivery networks. Accountable to translate HVC Procedural program specific goals and objectives into clinical operations, by prioritizing mission critical objectives to facilitate clinical integration across all clinical services. Responsible for promoting an operation and culture that focuses on patient and family -centered care and on enhancing a world class model of seamless quality and cost effective patient care 24/7 both operationally and clinically. Responsibilities

  • 1. Business Strategy and Implementation: Recognize market trends and evaluate their impact on the development of HVC Procedural Lab Operations across the HVC procedural locations.
    • 1.1 Directs clinical practices and programs in the setting, assuring comparable standards of care throughout the continuum of care. In collaboration with the Vice President of HVC and the Section Chief's, HVC Network Operations Administrator will design, develop, and implement clinically and fiscally responsible program philosophies, goals and objectives.
  • 2. Leadership: Provide leadership and accomplish objectives through innovation.
    • 2.1 Promotes the organization to all customers by interpreting and communicating YNHHS mission, vision, and values, acting as a loyal, supportive, and informed spokesperson for HVC Network Operations, and YNHHS.
  • 3. Customer Service: Achieve seamless delivery of service by appropriately involving patients, physicians, other customers and staff to ensure commitment.
    • 3.1 Develops customer relations-standards reflecting excellence consistent with hospital policy for internal/external customers in collaboration with unit leadership and appropriate departments.
  • 4. Outcomes Management: Ensure that desired clinical outcomes are achieved through cost effective and efficient processes.
    • 4.1 Develops and implements processes to collect relevant clinical indicator data which serves as a reliable proxy for clinical effectiveness and quality of care.
  • 5. Fiscal Management: Oversees and develops systems to ensure accountability for operations and managerial effectiveness.
    • 5.1 Develops and manages a budget to ensure the delivery of cost-effective, quality care.
  • 6. Decision Making: Formulates and educates program vision, goals and plans consistent with YNHH and HVC System strategies and policies.
    • 6.1 In collaboration with the Vice President of HVC, formulate and execute program vision, goals, and plans consistent with service line and hospital strategies and policies.
  • 7. Network Development:
    • 7.1 Acts as a liaison between HVC Network Operations and YNHHS/YSM/YMG for clinical network development.
  • 8. Key Interfaces:
    • 8.1 The HVC Network Operations Administrator interacts primarily with the following external interfaces: I. Referring Physicians II. Patients III. Families IV. Professional Counterparts V. Vendors/ Suppliers The HVC Network Operations Administrator interacts secondarily with the following external interfaces: I. General Public II. Regulatory Agencies III. Educational Institutions The HVC Network Operations Administrator interacts primarily with the following internal interfaces: I. Vice President of HVC and YNHTC Service Lines. II. Physicians (Surgery, Oncology, Nephrology, Cardiology, Diagnostic Radiology, etc.) III. Staff members within HVC Programs, operations, and nursing practice. IV. Division Vice President/Senior Executive The HVC Network Operations Administrator interacts secondarily with the following internal interfaces I. Patient Services Managers and Assistant Patient Services Managers throughout YNHHS II. Ancillary Staff (i.e. Pharmacy, Social Work, Nutrition) III. Departmental Managers (i.e. Laboratory Medicine, Radiology, Phlebotomy) IV. Support Departments (i.e. Payroll, Human Resources, MIS) V. Patient Services Division Leadership

Qualifications

EDUCATION


BSN or healthcare related bachelor's degree required. Master Degree or enrolled in related field preferred.


EXPERIENCE


Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in healthcare leadership along with significant operational Responsibility. Minimum of 5 years demonstrated successful leadership/management experience in an acute care setting and Inpatient/Ambulatory/Outpatient/Procedural Labs and Recovery practice management. Academic medical center and Interventional Radiology or Cardiovascular clinical service experience preferred. Thorough knowledge of Magnet status requirements as it relates to the certification process preferred.


LICENSURE


Current State of Connecticut (RN) or Radiography License. Certification in Specialty must be maintained


SPECIAL SKILLS


Local and regional travel is required in order to provide services and support to practice locations and departments throughout all regions of HVC/YNHHS.
