Minimum of high school graduate or equivalent. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS). Connecticut Certified Nursing Assistant Certificate or Surgical Tech Certification preferred and Certification in Sterile Processing considered.
Minimum of one (1) year PCA/CNA experience and/or one year GI clinical support experience and/or Perioperative experience as a Surgical Tech or in Sterile Processing.

Excellent communications, interpersonal, coordinative, and organizational skills. Knowledge of Endoscopic room procedure and universal precautions. Excellent communication skills. Individual must be able to tolerate high stress areas of work. Ability to read, writes, and perform basic math. All duties require some pushing, pulling, bending and standing. Must be able to read instructional materials and labels. Must be able to take and follow direction. Must be able to participate as member of the patient care team.
Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds. Ability to perform tasks of physical endurance and dexterity as required. Consistent use of proper body mechanics.
The GI Associate works under the direction of the GI physician and RN assisting with procedures in the endoscopy suite. Duties include direct and indirect patient care activities. Candidate must demonstrate outstanding commitment to excellent customer service and the ability to contribute to the team and promote a positive work environment. High School graduate or equivalent required. Minimum of one year PCA/CNA experience and/or one year GI clinical support required. BLS required.
