SUMMARY
Provides a wide range of child care and teaching experiences for young children in the Yale New Haven Hospital Day Care Center to support group teachers in attaining their mission.

Qualifications
EDUCATION
High School diploma or Generalized Educational Development certificate (GED) required. Preference to 12 credits in early childhood or a Child Development Associate Certificate (CDA). The CDA would be required within 12 months of employment if the 12 credits in early childhood or CDA was not met at hiring.
EXPERIENCE
Some experience working with infants through 5 year olds preferred. Strong preference for one (1) to two (2) years experience providing care to young children; or equivalent combination of experience and/or training.
SPECIAL SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Knowledge of principles of child development and child behavior.
PHYSICAL DEMAND
Ability to climb up and down stairs, and move from a seated position on the floor to an upright stance. Ability to lift 45 lbs.
