Performs manual and clerical duties related to the receipt of supplies and equipment shipped to the Hospital, plus delivery of same to designated departments. Also performs necessary duties related to the shipping of merchandise from the Hospital. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Responsibilities

  • 1. Receives all goods delivered to the hospital receiving department.
    • 1.1 Checks all incoming goods according to established procedure with accuracy as noted by random review of purchase order copies by supervisor.
  • 2. Processes paperwork, transports and delivers supplies to appropriate departments.
    • 2.1 Processes hospital receiving documents prior to delivery with accuracy as observed by supervisor.
  • 3. Prepares merchandise for shipment.
    • 3.1 Picks-up merchandise and paperwork from requesting department purchasing as directed and observed by supervisor. Completes MMIS vendor return documentation on -line open vendor pick up of product return. Secures all necessary courier signatures upon product removal from area.
  • 4. Performs routine maintenance and housekeeping tasks.
    • 4.1 Performs minor maintenance on receiving dock vehicles and equipment in accordance with departmental guidelines as indicated by review of equipment log.
  • 5. Participates in annual physical inventory.
    • 5.1 Accurately counts and records counts on preprinted inventory sheets according to procedure as observed by supervisor and review of source documents.
  • 6. Operates hospital courier vehicle to conduct hospital business transactions.
    • 6.1 Performs all routine daily courier functions in a timely and efficient manner as observed by supervisor and mileage documents.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

 

High school diploma or equivalent.

 

EXPERIENCE

 

Healthcare receiving and tow motor operation preferred.

 

LICENSURE

 

Must have a current driver's license and an acceptable driving record.

 

HOURS

 

Full time; 5:00am-1:30pm

 

PHYSICAL DEMAND

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is required to stand and walk. The employee must frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently move and/or lift up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. The specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold or extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; toxic or caustic chemicals.
