Overview
To be part of our organization, every employee should understand and share in the YNHHS Vision, support our Mission, and live our Values. These values - integrity, patient-centered, respect, accountability, and compassion - must guide what we do, as individuals and professionals, every day.
The Registered Nurse practices within the Patient and Family Centered Care Model will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for patients, coordinate ancillary staff and collaborate with interdisciplinary health care team.
Greenwich Hospital’s maternity unit boosts 24 private rooms for baby and family. Maternity nurses educate new parents on the care of their newborn. They are trained in both newborn nursery as well as postpartum nursing. All nurses are NRP certified and highly encouraged to become certified in maternity. The maternity nurses work closely with the physicians for both mother and baby to ensure safe discharge with follow up with our postpartum visit program. Breastfeeding support is one fundamental success factors in maternity. Skin to skin, rooming in and the close connection for all babies is promoted by all nurses. The nurses all work closely with the nursing assistants of the unit.
